“ Favourite place to get pho! Healthy and tasty. Also love the meals, loved the pork belly last time we came nice atmosphere with warm lighting, great music (at a good level so can still have conversation) and friendly staff. ”
“ Must say this is the best Vietnamese I have had in a long time and for now will be my go to place. The gentleman who was serving us was great, attentive, happy and wanted our continued feedback on the dishes. The dishes!! Just yum cannot fault any of what we had. And must also say an impressive little wine list, it was nice to see some thought to put into it. Great venue for family and friends. Spacious open and welcoming. Enjoy xxxxx ”
“ First time having banh xeo (Vietnamese pancakes) & feel in love with it! It was as delicious as what other people said on Google. The pho was a bit on the smaller side. We also ordered Mi Ga Don (Vietnamese chicken noodle soup) but we found it to be a bit boring. Our friends ordered bun bo hue (Spicy Vietnamese Beef & Pork Noodle) as she was craving for something spicy. They also had Bo Kho which was slow cooked Vietnamese beef & carrot stew served with banh mi, he said it felt very home-made & hearty. Overall it was nice trying new dishes with a Vietnamese friend as we always ordered pho. ”
“ I have been to many vietnamese restaurants around Melbourne and especially in Northcote, but Ginger & Chives definitely stands out. I liked the funky interior decor, friendly staff, efficient service, and spotless clean cutlery. Most of all, I found the ingredients they used to be very fresh and the dishes had a home cooked feel. I was also provided with a variety of vietnamese condiments which I loved. Highly recommended. ”
“ Delicious authentic Vietnamese food! After a recent trip to Vietnam we had been searching for a restaurant to transport us back there and it looks like we found the place! The staff were really friendly and sat us at a spacious table while allowing us time to choose between all the reasonably priced great dishes on offer. After debating whether to get the Pho (on this occasion we wanted try so much more) we decided on the Wok Fried Salt and Pepper Prawns, Goi Cuon (rice paper rolls with Prawn and Pork), Lui (skewers with sate chicken) and the Banh Xeo. All the dishes were absolutely delicious but by far the one that had us smiling was the Banh Xeo. Instantly we were transported back to Saigon with this delicious crepe, wrapping up our bites in the leaves and dipping in the sauce. It still amazes me that food has the ability to bring back so many memories and this restaurant’s food will take you to Vietnam in an instant! ”
“ Tried the soup wonton, the banh xeo and the fresh orange juice. The soup was delicious and light, with 3 wontons, slices of bbq pork, baby bok choy and crispy shallots. The banh xeo was huge, with no shortage of prawns, super crispy around the edges and soft in the middle. The leaves served with it were all super fresh with a good variety of perilla, lettuce and mints. The OJ was also nice and fresh. The menu was very well priced (especially for this part of high St) and the service was great. I'll definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu. ”
“ Had a great and fun dinner here Food was very good We will come back to pre order the Canh chua.. One of the rare Asian restaurants with a very clean restroom. A good menu that not many VN restaurants do. Would love to see some traditional VN sweets on the dessert menu. ”
“ Vietnamese food is exceptional, price is affordable. Enjoyed their vietnamese coffee and desserts! Love how the guy serves and tells my kid how she should have her Mi Ga Don menu its an egg noodle accompanied with crispy chicken. The place is neat and tidy! Pineapple banana fritter with ice cream so delectable! ”
